Behavior Specialist

Ohr Chadash Academy (OCA) is seeking a full-time behavior specialist to join the administration team in working with students and teachers to develop and implement individual behavior plans and school-wide behavior systems.

The candidate should have a child-friendly demeanor and be able to connect with students from our early childhood center through our middle school. A collaborative attitude is a must for this position which entails working with the principals, academic support staff, guidance counselor, and teachers to maximize the potential of each individual student.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Masters Level degree in psychology, social work, or related field
  • Certified BCBA
  • Minimum 5 years experience successfully working with students
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based practice
  • Understands principles of social emotional and cognitive development

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing school-wide behavior systems
  • Observing and training teachers in effectively implementing school-wide behavior system
  • Writing behavior plans for individual students
  • Training and managing designated aides
  • Serving as case manager to communicate with parents for students with BIPs

Reading Specialist

Ohr Chadash Academy is seeking a reading specialist to work as part of our student support team. Utilizing research-based methodologies, the candidate will work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to assess, monitor, provide direct instruction to and program for the reading needs of students in grades K-8.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree, master’s preferred
  • Formal training in special education and/or current research-based reading instruction
  • Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience
  • Proficiency with technology integration
  • Experience administering a variety of informal testing measures
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Effective behavior management skills
  • Strong organizational skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with students 1:1 or in small groups to remediate reading skills
  • Observing students in the classroom and advising teachers on modifications and accommodations for the students
  • Establishing and maintaining effective data collection methods and adjusting instruction based on data
  • Communicating students’ progress and performance with colleagues and parents

Judaics Learning Specialist

 Ohr Chadash Academy is seeking a full-time Judaics Learning Specialist to work as part of our student support team. Utilizing research-based methodologies, the candidate will work collaboratively with administrators and teachers to assess, monitor, provide direct instruction to and program for the academic needs of students in grades K-8.

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education/special education, master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience with students with learning disabilities
  • Expertise in kriah, chumash, Torah shebaal peh, and safah instruction
  • Proficiency with technology integration
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Effective behavior management skills
  • Strong organization skills

  • Observing students in the classroom and advising teachers on modifications and accommodations for the students
  • Establishing and maintaining effective data collection methods and adjusting instruction based on data
