Signature OCA middle school experiences
Some of the most meaningful learning in Middle School takes place beyond the classroom. These experiences are designed to support students’ social, spiritual, and emotional growth while strengthening their connection to Torah, community, and one another. Students participate in grade-level Shabbatonim, where they experience Shabbat together through shared meals, zemirot, divrei Torah, and informal learning, strengthening both friendships and their connection to Torah and mitzvot.
Opportunities for chesed and community engagement help students develop empathy, kindness, and a sense of responsibility toward others, reinforcing the values they learn in the classroom. Middle School students are also given opportunities to develop leadership skills by organizing activities, contributing to school initiatives, and taking on meaningful roles within the school community. Guest speakers and special programming further enrich the student experience, exposing students to important ideas and perspectives while helping them connect their learning to real-world experiences and personal growth.
In addition, experiential learning is woven throughout the program, with hands-on projects, collaboration, and problem-solving allowing students to apply their learning in meaningful and engaging ways.
